Dell Inspiron 3542 SUCCESS HD 4400 w/GTX 840m Yosemite/Clover build

Big thanks to Rehabman & Toleda for their guides in getting here

While I won't go into specifics of the install process I recommend using the other guides out there to install Clover using UEFI interface

Specs are as follows:

Dell Inspiron 3542 A04 BIOS
Intel i7 2.0 GHz (Haswell)
intel HD 4400 with discrete nvidia GTX 840m
Realtek ALC 3223 HD Audio
Display 1366 x 768
Realtek 81xxx ethernet

wifi card replaced with Broadcom compatible card (£10 from eBay)

Only issues are no audio after sleep while graphics use 4400
For brightness use the slider control in Display settings

Files attached, a great little laptop (and reasonably priced) for Yosemite

Keep in mind no one can use your DSDT/SSDT files as even minor changes in hardware/BIOS configuration can change the base DSDT/SSDTs in a way that makes them incompatible. It is better to share the procedures for creating patched DSDT/SSDTs from native.

Also, your config.plist is corrupt:

Speedy-OSX:dell 3542 A04 RehabMan$ plutil -lint config.plist 
config.plist: Encountered unexpected element at line 281 (plist can only include one object)

(If you look at the file, you'll see why. That added KextsToPatch is in the wrong place)

It is easiest to borrow a Mac from friend or family. Prepare your USB installer there. Otherwise, you have to purchase Snow Leoard (on DVD from Apple) and install it first just so you can download Yosemite from the Mac App Store and prepare your USB.

im just extracted SSDT(7 files)and DSDT(1 file) native with 'RW everything' on windows 8
and downloaded Yosemite from app store on mac, and what is next step ???
I read about patching but I cant understand how can make it
ANY ADVICE ??

I have the same laptop. I have installed Yosemite with clover using your config.plist. Installed some kexts later on. Everything works fine except wi-fi, sleep, mic, USB-3.0. Can you help me with that?? I'll be really grateful...
