Hi and thanks for all your efforts !

I tried an USB-stick with OSX Mountain Lion made with Unibeast

Firstly with no options in bootloader it gets into trouble with the graphics card it might seem, since it stops right after exiting the bootloader.

Then with "GraphicsEnabler=No" it gets further, but stops at "Still waiting for root device", is this because of the USB 3.0 ports ? The machine does not have any USB 2.0 ports at all.

What are my options, should I try to make a bootable DVD ?

Can anybody help me with this issue ?

I have the idea to buy a Inspiron 17 R SE, so it would be nice if you write something about your progress....!

PS: Is it possible to put an additional HDD in the Inspiron without buying expensive adapters from Dell?

Hi !

Been working all night on this and finally got some progress !

First of all, the reason for "Still waiting for root" message was because of my USB 2.0 stick, bought a USB 3.0 stick from Verbatim and it worked fine !

I got installer working just fine with the -x and GraphicsEnabler=No.

Installed just fine, but would not boot without -x and GraphicsEnabler=No afterwards, found out that if i moved all the NV* and GeForce* out of the way everything started nicely !

To get it to boot from harddrive bootloader follow the boot0:error guide from this excellent site

What works :

Ethernet with Realtek drivers for RTL 8111 from their site
Audio with HD drivers from multibeast
DVD drive OOTB
Keyboard OOTB
USB 1.1 devices
Sata onboard HDD
Multibooting with Windows 8 !

What does not work:

Wireless
nVidia Graphics
USB 2.0

I'll write some more when I get some further progress.

Thank you, today I ordered one. I hope then we'll find a solution for the graphics. But the 650m is build in the macbook pro, so there is hope....

Hi again !

And now for some real progress !

I have gotten the HD4000 graphics card to work with full acceleration !

I found this post here at tonymacosx86 :

http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-lion-desktop-support/61216-10-8-how-enable-hd4000.html

and decided to give all the different settings a try to see if I could get some of them working, and on the setting 01660004 i got the screen up and running with semi-transparent menu bar and all !

This is how :

I edited my org.chameleon.Boot.plist and added :

Code:
<key>device-properties</key>
<string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000004006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string>

I also used the DSDT file from here :

http://www.insanlynac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=281476&st=0&gopid=1849120&#entry1849120

but I haven't checked if that is neccessary.

I also bought a Netgear WNA1000M micro USB wifi adapter and have gotten it to work with the original Realtek drivers for it.

Perfekt timing....! I'll try this weekend...!

Hi, i am on the same boat. I just got Dell Inpiron 7720 and i want to throw ML on it. could you write step by step guide from your successful installation ?

No success this weekend. I inject the following kexts:
2870-DP3.kexts
2870-PXHCDv1.0.8.kext

from http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2870

Now I can reach the installer, but after that my system doesn't boot. After showing me the MAC Adress in the verbose screen, it's running dead....

OK....I will try, last time I only used -v GraphicsEnabler=no
