Your photo shows no KP, but you likely have a graphics problem due to no injection of ig-platform-id or the wrong one being injected. Depends on your (unspecified) screen resolution.

Some notes on your Multibeast settings:
- PCIRoot fix is generally not necessary/won't work on a laptop
- better to install only what is necessary

For power management and initial setup after a fresh install, see: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...nagement-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-laptops.html

Haswell is similar to Ivy, except you should use a Haswell-appropriate smbios and there is no need to patch AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext.

Audio: Best result with patched AppleHDA. Google 'patch AppleHDA guide'. Search for suitable AppleHDA or patch it yourself. Apply appropriate DSDT patches.

DSDT patches you need for AppleHDA: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
Apply: "Audio Layout 12" (change layout-id from 12 to the layout-id used by the patched AppleHDA)
Apply: "IRQ Fix"

Battery status: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks-laptop-support/116102-how-patch-dsdt-working-battery-status.html

WiFi: Depends on having compatible hardware. Use DPCIManager->PCI List to find out what you have. Compatible chipsets and the procedures for making them work are covered here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/104850-guide-airport-pcie-half-mini-v2.html

Ethernet: What Ethernet chipset do you have? Use DPCIManager->PCIList to find out.

---

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature (pointer over your name in upper right - drop down menu select Settings and Edit Profile from options in left pane of Settings menu.)

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx). For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Dell Inspiron 15R N5521 (i5-3337U) KP ???

Sorry,

Screen Resolution :- 1366 x 768

Now Going step by step....

i used "Intel gfx patch for mixed config" for grafx in multibeast???
doesnt that solve the problem??? what does that do....????

without setting "PCIRoot fix", my lappy doesnt boot in, and gets stuck at apple logo with a spinning wheel...
either i have to manually insert "PCIRootUID=1 -x" every time at boot or i have set "PCIRoot fix"

Well, ill try with not patching AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext, plus will try To create a MacBookAir5,2 smbios.plist, use Chameleon Wizard which according to the thread is compatible for my system.

well, is "system IRQ" same as IRQ fix which you are talking abt?
I used DPCIManager, and i got these numbers,
80861E20 and sub: 10280597
is that of any help in finding or patching the applehda.
and if possible for patched AppleHDA, is it possible to guide me with a pre patched file, as i m new to all this...

Last but not the least, i went through ur battery patch post,,,and have downloaded acpibatterymanager.
also searched ur repo for the patches if available... but couldn't find any... tried to go through the patching process,
but m getting really mixed up... is there a way i can get a patched AppleACPIPlatform for my battery???

WIFI, bluetooth and Ethernet are secondary matter, that i have 2 buy a dongle, so not an issue....

i Have attached a system dsdt and ssdt file extracted from my lappy.... hope it will be of some help...

thanx for helping so much,,,,, waiting for a prompt and positive reply...

thanx

angel

Unless you have a "mixed" system, then you should not use that. If you used it, but don't have a mixed system, then you should start over, as you'll never get graphics to work.

Even if you do have a mixed system there are better ways to do the same thing (DSDT edits, because they will survive a system update).

Mixed systems are HD3000 on 7-series chipset or HD4000 on 6-series chipset.

According to what you wrote in post #1, you have HD4000 on 7-series. So... not mixed. Have fun re-installing.

without setting "PCIRoot fix", my lappy doesnt boot in, and gets stuck at apple logo with a spinning wheel...
either i have to manually insert "PCIRootUID=1 -x" every time at boot or i have set "PCIRoot fix"

You should use IGPlatformID=01660003, which you need to activate your HD4000 correctly.

Well, ill try with not patching AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext

Most laptops require patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement. You will get KP on boot without...

well, is "system IRQ" same as IRQ fix which you are talking abt?

Read the instructions such that you're using MaciASL correctly. The fact that you're asking this question indicates you haven't read the README.

I used DPCIManager, and i got these numbers,
80861E20 and sub: 10280597
is that of any help in finding or patching the applehda.
and if possible for patched AppleHDA, is it possible to guide me with a pre patched file, as i m new to all this...

Not helpful. As stated, you need a codec dump from Linux.

There is no patched AppleACPIPlatform for this issue. If there was, we'd be using it. Some can rollback to the Snow Leopard version, but it breaks Ivy power management, access to the Mac App Store, and can cause problems with sleep, etc.

WIFI, bluetooth and Ethernet are secondary matter, that i have 2 buy a dongle, so not an issue....

You need working Ethernet at 'en0' built-in to access the Mac App Store.

One of the patches for an existing Dell just needed some tweaks for your DSDT.

Try it: "Dell Vostro 15xx"

ok, so ill be reinstalling the entire stuff... well thats not an issue...
but instead of using "-x PCIRootUID=1" i have to use, "IGPlatformID=01660003" as command, right?

for 2nd point, u only said not to patch AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext !!!

Sir, i read the full readme but couldnt find anything abt irq fix stuff in the readme....???
are you talking about the readme at, https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch ??
i found irq under system folder in your laptop patch?? is that it???

well for the audio, ill get my hands on ubantu tomorrow, then ill read, and dump the codec dump and let you know...

well, if thats the case, then kindly help me out in patching AppleACPIPlatform for my lappy....

as for ethernet, ill buy a dongle in a day or two.. which compact dongle is best???? for wifi.. connectivity???

and did u check my dsdt and ssdt files......??? are they ok???

thanx 4 helping so much..

P.S. wot sahould be patched in the file..???? vistro???

Yes.

I did not. You don't have Haswell.

That is the README. Follow the instructions and "IRQ Fix" will make sense.

well, if thats the case, then kindly help me out in patching AppleACPIPlatform for my lappy....

There is no patch for ACPIPlatform for battery. Read battery post.

as for ethernet, ill buy a dongle in a day or two.. which compact dongle is best???? for wifi.. connectivity???

Dongle will not work for Mac App Store. Must be built-in.

well,

reinstalling 10.9.2 on my lappy...
but booting into the setup doesnt happen without
-x IGPlatformID=01660003
if i omit -x, it doesnt boot, just get a spinning mouse wheel thats it...

2ndly,
ill patch AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement
and install MacBookAir5,2 smbios.plist, using the chameleon wizard app that i have downloaded. then install ssdt after a restart
as said in the tut.

3rd,
for the battery status patch, i have downloaded, ACPIBatteryManager.kext and ill patch my dsdt with vistro 15xx
will that help....?

thanx

Assuming you have 1366x768 display resolution and HD4000 and 7-series board, yes.

You have no specs in your profile, so I have no idea on the hardware you have.

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature (pointer over your name in upper right - drop down menu select Settings and Edit Profile from options in left pane of Settings menu.)
