Hello guys, accidentally I'm coming back to use osx on the Dell Laptops. There is a my tread about my experience.

##Hardware
i7-4980HQ
16GB DUAL CHANNEL DDR3L 1600MHZ (2X8GB)
512GB M.2 SSD + 1TB 5400RPM SATA 6GB/S
17.3 INCH FHD (1920 X 1080)
NVIDIA(R) GEFORCE(R) GTX 980M WITH 4GB G
KILLER 1525 802.11AC
8 CELL 92W HOUR BATTERY

##Timeline
First I prepared backup using my mac laptop and alien respawn tool

Then I follow this guide to prepare a booting usb image.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...-x-yosemite-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

Unfortunately, nothing has booted from the first try)

##Reboots:

1. I found this page and created patch on kernel. After patching boot successfully

http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...ng-kernel-haswell-cpus-xcpm-early-reboot.html

2. Next error I got after:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-support/144074-yosemite-bootscreen-stuck-cpu-panic-3.html

I applied -v -no-zp flags in boot options

3. after that booting just stuck on some stage of booting process

-no-zp nv_disable=1

No HDMI output, but display port is working as additional screen

Keep in touch, my next step is Clover

##Unresolved

  • appleacpiec error 0xdc008016
  • AGPM controller unknownPlatform
  • ntfs partitions
  • getCPUIDInfo: this is an unknown CPU model 0x46
  • unable to parse max RPM for fan 1-3

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Read compatibility overview: http://www.tonymacx86.com/laptop-compatibility/106791-laptop-compatibility.html

Use Clover: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...oting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover-uefi.html

Also, you will find many of the stickies here useful: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/

I'm not familiar with the discrete nvidia hardware. Make sure you understand your graphics configuration though (eg. is it only nvidia or dual-GPU with Intel HD as well).

Post entire 'lspci -nn' output from Linux Terminal.

No idea what you mean by 'moved out'.

No idea on panic without photo.

no changes from lid closing-opening

unfortunately, osx booting quite unstable, i achieve this screen only once, all other approaches freezing in different stages on progressbar

Try different ig-platform-id values (as suggested by the guide).

Try config.plist/Graphics/Inject/Intel=false. You can then deal with graphics issues later...

Still the same behaviour.

I tried different ig-platform-id values (3,8,9). Its look better in terms of picture, but it still hang up somewhere in the middle of boot process.

I tried with Intel=false, system is accidentally rebooting after few seconds

I thinking about decreasing number of cores for CPU in config, another idea - disconnect internal network card. Maybe you have another ideas? Maybe you know a good way to make a dump in time of freezing into the usb drive?

Anyway, appreciate your help, I really happy with)

3,8,9 are not valid ig-platform-id values.

Post EFI/Clover folder.
