Hello everyone,

to all that got use out of my guide: COOL! That's why it was written... it is elaborate but I hate to miss pointing things out..

I had a few changes to the system but nothing really big.

I bought a MOLEX 4 to 8pin converter just to make sure I wasn't missing any power to the motherboard.

I setup ML 10.8.2 on a new 2TB Seagate drive, and ran into issues. Here is the thread http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-h...e-update-st1000-st2000-st3000.html#post510845

I bought the HP ZR2440W 24" LED IPS monitor with a resolution of 1920x1200. It is really really nice. Here it is on Amazon Germany: [AMAZON-de]http://www.amazon.de/dp/B0062VC6FS/[/AMAZON-de]

Still holding out on a EVGA GTX 650 (Ti) graphics card, but one thing is for sure that multi monitor with the HD4000 doesn't work. At least not with any combination of cables I used and I think I got them all.

I added a LG Bluray burner BH16NS40, simply to be able to read Blurays first and second ... at some point you want some backup on BD or something. At least your pictures, vdo's etc... and DVD's even DL simply are not enough anymore. People with a fair iTunes library will know what I mean!
Here is the drive on Amazon Germany: [AMAZON-de]http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00AK29B26/[/AMAZON-de]

FYI: I have not heard this drive spin up so either it is MAC compatible like the Sony Optiarc's or I'm starting to get deaf (not!) but the system is really quiet so I would have heard the drive spin up. I do have a Sony Optiarc in it as well, it replaced the LG DVD writer.

I had a few issues with the internal LAN. I had it replaced with an original Apple USB->LAN adapter for a while but in the end went to get a small PCIe card with a compatible chipset. I have fixed it and the write up is here: -> http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/8...-lan-nic-when-wired-ethernet-not-working.html

Topping it all off is my Apple wireless BT trackpad... it just makes the experience of a MAC whole. There simply is nothing like it.

I am now planning a 4th build, but this one although still Core i7 and not XEON, is an all out, no expenses spared system. Core i7-3770, 16GB 1333, 256GB SSD, 2TB HD, Bluray Burner, GTX 660 graphics card, on a Z77 chipset MSI motherboard. With prices being what they are the system nears $2K so we'll have to get this ratified by the ministry of Finance. Or an upgrade of my current system. But I hate to mess with a rock solid build. It's so good.... wow.

May the 4th be with you. Or something like that.

I am building a new machine with this board (MSI Z77A-G45) and core i7 3770 and Asus GTX 650 video card. I installed with unibeast using the following boot arguments:

PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=no -x

Installation went fine, even with the graphics card installed. You do not need to remove the video card and install with the built-in HD4000 graphics.

However, when I ran multibeast 5.3, it ended with an error and I had to create the org.chameleon.boot.plist myself.

See Warhammer68m's thread
http://www.tonymacx86.com/desktop-c...77a-g45-confirmed-mountain-lion-10-8-3-a.html

My problem: I selected Drivers ->Audio -> Realtek ALC8xx ->Without DSDT ->ALC892

I made my system definition iMac 13,2

Now boot hangs at AppleHDA.kext. I can boot with -x but no sound.

Any suggestions?

thanks.

Try to download the DSDT attached to my original post, then retry WITH DSDT and the sound.

iMAC 13 definition.... I'd not.... set it to MAC PRO 5,1.

Hi DarfWeder, I have two questions for you (and for anyone that can help me :D).

I will have a configuration similar as your. The only difference between my future configuration and your is the processor: I will buy the i7 3770 (NOT 3770k). Will your DSDT works anyway?

Another question. Is simple making a dual-boot system with MAC OS and Windows 7? Obviously NOT using BootCamp :D

Thank you, have a nice day! :)

@Sipala93
im not darfweder, but to answer your q.
yes you should be able to use his dsdt no issue, although its best to make your own.

yes its very easy to dual boot with win 7 as long as you are using separate hdds for each os. both os on one drive is more complicated.

Thank you very much :)

But I want to have 2 OS in one drive... It's so difficult? Now I have a Samsung SSD 830 256GB but I want to buy the 500GB, so I can use it for 2 systems... Tell me ;)

Hmmm Thank you, but you're right, it's a bit complicated :D Any suggestion? For example, if I use BootCamp on a Hackintosh I make a hash?
