Motherboard
Mavericks OSX / Windows 7
CPU
Intel Core i7 3770S @3.10GHz Ivy Bridge
Graphics
1023MB NVIDA Geforce GT 620
I’m thinking of getting a few upgrades from my current system

Mavericks OSX / Windows 7
Intel Core i7 3770S @3.10GHz Ivy Bridge
ASUS P8H61-M motherboard
1023MB NVIDA Geforce GT 620
16GB DDR3 Ram

Looking at the current (October) buyer guide for the CustoMac Pro Socket 2011

http://www.tonymacx86.com/446-building-customac-buyer-s-guide-october-2014.html

How far component wise can I stray from the guide as I believe my current CPU will not work with the gigabyte motherboard stated in the guide.

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Socket 2011 builds require a socket 2011 CPU. Your i7-3770S is a socket 1155 socket CPU. For the very latest socket 2011 build information on X99 see here:

I am sure you will find more with the search feature.

Thanks for your advice! :)
