CustoMac Desktop USB Fixes - 10.11+ Reference

Mine are skier's right.
The others are from two of my ski buddies. We were fortunate to take that photo from the lift (going back up) after we laid the tracks together and had skied to the bottom. No one else had gone there to mess up our tracks... yet.

For your hardware, basic components/procedures:
- XHCI-200-series-injector.kext
- USBInjectAll.kext
- port limit patch in config.plist
- port discovery
- create SSDT-UIAC.aml matching port discovery results and staying within 15-port limit
- remove port limit patch from config.plist

Finally getting around to this. I've got everything mapped out except one port.

Looks like my board uses HS 01,02, 05,06,07, 09,10, 11, 12

Then i have one port that comes up under
AppleUSBLegacyRoot - AppleUSBXHCI@00000000 - AppleUSBXHCI Root Hub Simulation@00000000

(see screenshot)

How do I handle this port?

Thanks for the help!

The legacy root stuff is not relevant (and not mentioned in the guide...)

Okay, I get that but when I plug a usb drive into that port - that's where it maps to - it's not showing up under XHC@14.

You will need to provide an ioreg to support your claim.
I suspect you're not looking at ioreg correctly.

Okay, so took another look. Here's what I found. See attached screenshots.

Where/how do I handle this port?

Thanks, in advance.

Your plugging it to a thunderbolt controller.
Therefore off-topic... this thread and my USB guides do not address USB ports on TB.
Nothing to do really, as the ports usually just work (provided the TB controller is active on PCIe).

After using MultiBeast, my USB2 ports only work sometimes when I boot. No rhyme or reason, or which port I use. So I only have mouse/keyboard sometimes. This is in Sierra on a Dell Optiplex 9010. is the 7/8/9 driver all I need to enable?

hi, i try to boot the high sierra 10.13.4 installation created from Unibeast 8.3.2.
With USB 3 pendrive when it reach high sierra installation screen my mouse and keyboard is not working on all usb 2 and usb 3 port, it seems no power from usb as my keyboard no numlock capslock light.
With USB 2 pendrive, or USB 3 pendrive on USB 2 port it will show no entry sign.
Any solution for this?

How do I know what series I have? I have a Core i7 6700k and Z170A motherboard. I’m trying to fix my USB3 ports and I have no idea what I’m doing...
