Custom Mac Pro help please

Hey, I am planning on building the 2nd CustoMac Pro Build.

The recommended power supply is the 650W Corsair

However, as a special cyber monday sell Newegg is selling an 850W power supply for a cheaper price. I figure I might as well just buy this one.

Would this work with the CustoMac Build and what would be the benefits/drawbacks of using the 850W power supply?

Also, the build calls for the AMD Radeon HD 6870. I have noticed that this card seems to fail for a lot of people. It mostly has negative comments on Newegg and
Amazon. I have heard that the XFX HD Radeon 5870 (1GB) is a very good card with good ratings. Could I use this card with my Customac Build? What would you recommend?

The 6870 was a respun and rebranded 5870 which scored mostly identical.
It is probably easier to find a new 6870 than 5870 unless you look on eBay.
If I was going to spend a decent amount of cash I would buy the new card for the warranty. I currently am using a Powercolor 6870 and it performs quite well.

As always be sure to stick with a reference design card.
