Why would it list dual memory for this build? The link is for dual channel memory? But the processor will run quad channel memory.

Is this a simple add 2 more sticks of ram and it will be quad ? or is the ram itself different b/t dual and quad channel's

Are you talking about the socket 2011 build on this page: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.se/search/label/CustoMac ?

If so, yes, it's quad channel, and yes, it will work with dual channel too. I don't even think performance will be affected much if you run dual channel. But yes, adding another two sticks (in the correct slots) will give you quad channel.
