Cube to the MAX!

Ok I have your recommended board on order. Any suggestion on I3 vs I7 ?

I probably won't actually start cutting etc until January

The cube I got actually is running OS 9 I think. It's not here yet

I will be following one of your threads for the build

Both CPUs perform very well. The i7 runs considerably warmer and costs more. I guess it all depends on your primary use. Make sure it's either the i3-3225 or i7-3770S version, so you have full compatibility with the motherboard. Just so you know, I use my i7 Cube more than any of my other systems. It does everything very very well.

Cheers!

Oh very good! Can you describe any particular process?
Have you any issues?
Thanks

Hi PepOne, I used the same process as I documented for the NUC update in my iMac G4. Different DSDT of course. Also for the DQ77KB motherboard I had to use a modifed ACPIPlatform kext for the system to boot to both the USB installer and the OSX install. I've attached that kext to this post.

The link is here.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Great build!

Thanks for the info, After completing my MDD hackintosh i've been looking into building a cube hackintosh since it is my all time favourite mac and you have helped immensely with my planning!

So far i've purchased these parts:

i5 3475S
DQ77KB
4gb Ram
120W PSU

now all i need is to find a cube to buy! lol

Thx Rayd!

In case you haven't seen it, I also put up a detailed guide at this link. Many tips and photos of the steps are shown there. Great choice on the Intel board, you won't regret it.

Looking forward to seeing your pics!

Cheers!

10.9.1 update completed without issue on my i7 Cube.
