Right now this machine is running fine with 10.6.8 in 64-bit

Any ideas?

Usually that error appears for unsupported CPUs....well copy your DSDT.aml from /Extra Folder to the one created in the Flash Drive

I don't have an Extra folder on the OS X Lion installation partition. ?

open up terminal and type in
Code:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
followed by
Code:
killall Finder

then navigate to root of your HD to find the Extra folder...

after you copy the essential things again open up terminal and type in
Code:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
followed by
Code:
killall Finder

I'm getting a similar issue.

Do you mean that we should create an /Extra folder on the Lion Installer partition and copy the DSDT.aml from the SL boot drive /Extra folder into it?

Well if you don't have an Extra folder in the Lion installer, then yes.....most probably it is hidden when you type in those commands you will be able to see the extra

I ran the commands (thanks for them by the way!), but there was no /Extra folder present on the "Installer" partition, hence the question

I tried this.
Anyway try copying the /Extra folder of your SL to the USB
