Anyone know what the reason for this might be?

Yes i did use mulitbeast.

And yes it's there.

OK, you'll need to edit the following part of it with a text editor:

<key>SMcputype</key>
<string>1537</string>

Change "1537" to "1793" and it'll show i7 860. :)

Fixed, thanks mate.

Pleased to report a 100% working and stable system now. (except for the having to press power button to wake from sleep, to avoid the usb not coming back on issue)

I press the power to wake from sleep as well; maybe not as convenient as the mouse or keyboard, but not a big deal for an otherwise stable system.

Regardomg the mouse/keyboard (mine is a combo wireless) one way around this is to plug a USB from your CPU to your monitor, then monitor to mouse, or use a USB HUB. Not elegant, but simple.

Hey thanks, i might try that, i do have a usb hub built into my monitor.

I did find something new and funky going on too, my computer will only sleep, if one monitor is turned on, if I have both on (dual setup) it just wakes straight up again. no crash, just wont sleep.

anyone else seen this happen?
