Comments:

Today I updated an old Hackintosh to OSX 10.8.2 and want to share my experience.

Audio: Working
Display: DVI works. Dual Display: Not tested yet.
Sleep/Wake: Not tested yet
Ethernet: Working
iCloud: Not tested yet
AppStore: Not tested yet
AirPlay Mirror: Not tested yet

Mountain Lion Install Process:
1. Download Mountain Lion from Mac App Store and use Unibeast to create a USB Thumb Drive. Use this guide!
2. Connect the Thumb drive and power on the PC.
3. BIOS Set SATA to Run AHCI:
"Integrated Peripherals"->Set "SATA AHCI Mode" and "Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode" to "AHCI"
AHCI.jpg

4. BIOS Change Boot Device:
"Advanced BIOS Features"->"Hard Disk Boot Priority"->Move the USB Thumb Drive to the first position
priority.jpg

5. Save the BIOS setting and reboot.
6. Now it should boot from USB Thumb Drive.
7. At the Chimera Boot Screen, choose USB and hit Enter
8. The screen turns black. Don´t panic. After some minutes the install screen should show up.
9. Install OSX. Use this guide! note: the BIOS often reset it self so you have to repeat step 2-5 after every reboot!
10. Download the 10.8.2 Combo Update and install it. DON`T REBOOT!
11. Download this View attachment dsdt.aml and place it on the desktop
12. Run Multibeast 5.0.2. Use this setting:
multibeast_settings.png

13. Reboot
14. Done

I have the exact same system, but with NVIDIA GT520, KP every time I boot.

Any ideas?

awesome thank you for this great Guide.

I have kind of the same config like you and it works great.

GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3 LGA 775
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 4x2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor, boxed
Zotac GeForce GT 430 (working: 1024 MB) / (physical: 2048MB DDR3) Dual DVI
8 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Intel lE1000e, RTL8169Ethernet, Dlink Wifi Card = Atheros 5416
BenQ G2420HDB
OS X 10.8.2

But I had to remove my wifi card to get ETH0 for my Ethernet before the wifi card allocated the ETH0 and iCloud and App Store didn't work.
I removed the wifi card and reinstalled the Ethernet card to get ETH0 for the Ethernet.
(Followed this guide: http://blog.waldrondigital.com/2011...is-not-an-icloud-account-on-hackintosh-fixed/ )
with this steps:

3. Delete /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
5. Reboot your computer. Both the files deleted above will be automatically recreated.

Than I put the wifi card back in the PCI slot...
It seems to work.

Here also a screenshot what I selected at MuliBeast.
and also used DSDT-GA-P35-DS3R-2.1-F13.aml

Hi to all!
I have the same mobo but the video card is a nVidia 8400 GS.
The system boots without kernel panics, but it does not load Mountain Lion. The boot process stuck at "IoBluetooth - completed"
See attachment

I also noticed that the BIOS resets itself!! after a restart the SATA settings are set back to IDE mode :(

I have the same boards GA-EP35-DS3 6GB RAM ASUS 5450HD

I Installed using your method. It worked except the audio I needed to use the ALC889a WITHOUT DSDT in order to get the audio working properly.

This was the same with both 10.8.2 and 10.7.5

I used multibeast 5.2.1 for ML with both above and then I used kext wizard to install Radeon HD5450 kexts with my 1002 68f9 card

Everything working great! thanks for the help!!

PS for anyone who has the issue with the bios resetting ... this MoBo has a feature which allows you to save a Bios Profile - very helpful

When you set your BIOS with all your specific settings ( i include boot order and remove floppy etc) then you can use the F11 and F12 keys to save and load BIOS Configurations.

The other good thing about doing this is that if the BIOS does reset itself, you can load one of the profiles that you have saved (I save one with a USB stick set to boot and one booting from HDD)

This makes life easier!

Thanks a bunch for your work!!! I have just a cpl of questions:
1. for which bios version is this dsdt?
2. which patches are included in this dsdt?
3. in case you already tried it: does this dsdt also work for mavericks?

thanks again, ximekon

I'm more bored than a piece of wood lol at the moment so I'm about to attempt this on a similar setup, except I have an intel board (like actual first party intel) and I plan on installing the latest and greatest possible OS X wise (which would be El Capitan). I'm just about to make a Yosemite USB installer and then I'll attempt and upgrade from there. I'll post here if I need help!
