Hey All,

I built my first Hackintosh so that I would have better performance than my laptop, but currently it's only performing at about the same level. I've tried to figure out what to do to fix it, but I'm struggling. I just recently did a Vanilla instal of Mojave. Geekbench has me at a Single-Core score of 1069 and a Multi-Core score of 6427.

Any thoughts? I've attached my Config file and here are my components:

CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K Desktop Processor 6 Cores up to 4.7GHz Turbo Unlocked LGA1151 300 Series 95W
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHz (PC4-21300) C16 Memory Kit - Black
Main HD: Crucial MX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD - CT2000MX500SSD1(Z)
Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z370-A LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z370 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard
CPU Cooler: CORSAIR Hydro Series H55 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler 120mm (CW-9060010-WW)
PSU: CORSAIR RMx Series RM650x 2018 CP-9020178-NA 650W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Power Supply
WiFi: TP-LINK Archer T9E PCI Express AC1900 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter Support Windows 10 with New Driver Update
Bluetooth: IOGEAR Bluetooth 4.0 Dual-Mode USB Mini Adapter, GBU522

Latest version of Geekbench changed the scoring. Use a version before version 5.

Done! New results from Geek Bench 4:

- Single Core: 5315
- Multi Core: 23517

I think you should still be able to get it higher than this. Feel free to check out my build as it's virtually the same.

Sweet! Yeah, ours is so similar. How do I check out your build? Are you suggesting that I just boot from the same Clover config file as you? Do you know your BIOS settings? I had a couple of issues with my previous settings that are now resolved, so I'm a bit nervous to change things. That said, if you have the same components as me and yours works better, I'm definitely open to making changes!

Oh, also, I tried running it again with absolutely every program closed except Geek Bench and I got higher results. I think there's a chance that Chrome is slowing everything down, but that in and of itself shouldn't cause that much damage, right? I've also seen in Activity Monitor that sometimes it looks like some Calendar-related items (I think) are taking a whole lot of CPU power. Regardless, it definitely isn't as fast as it should be. Here are the updated results:

Single-Core Score: 6025
Multi-Core Score: 27238

@rickybschweitzer that's a lot better and closer to the ball park. I wouldn't use my EFI but it's worth looking over for differences. I also have a USBkext for this board that would save you sometime with mapping it out. Can you send your IOreg?

So you'll send over your EFI so that I can compare for the differences? I'm still very much a newbie to this, so I'm not sure what mapping it out means in this context. I don't believe that I'm having any problems with my USB port, but I could be wrong. Can you think of any other reasons why the performance isn't up to snuff if the Geek Bench values are decent?

Also, have you been able to get multi-monitor displays to work? I've tried since I set up the computer almost a year ago and cannot for the life of me get it to work. It's really important for my work, so it would be amazing if you knew how to do it.

IOReg attached!
