I was able to fix the "Computer could not be verified" problem with the App Store by doing the following:

Added this to my com.boot.apple file:

    <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
    <string>Yes</string>
    <key>PCIRootUID</key>
    <string>0</string>

I then ran the shareware utility "Lizard" and changed the boot ROM name from "Tonymacx86...." to "MP31.88Z.006C.B02.0801021250" (which is one of the drop-down selections in the menu for the smbios).

After these changes the problem went away.

The PCIRootUID of 0 instead of 1 came from a note in one of the forums.

I'm not sure why all this worked, but it may be that the App Store checks the boot rom name as part of the verification process.

File com.apple.boot.plist was renamed to org.chameleon.boot.plist and can be found in your /Extra folder.
