I've been parting out this build for an mATX SFX case. The build is intended to be a workstation grade CPU inside of a case that is small enough to fit as a carry on. The build is for music production only so keeping it quiet/cool is a plus. I would like to overclock within reason.

I need a recommendation for a quiet low key graphics card (not using the machine for gaming or video).

Will I need a card for Wifi or Bluetooth?

Other than that: can someone take a look at this list and advise on compatibility?

Looks good but I think you need to spoof the CPU (someone has done this in the forums.)

And yes you will need a wifi card since none of them ship (that I've seen) with a compatible wifi card. Mostly intel wifi (which is not supported.)

ok so in addition to a graphics card I need a recommendation for a wifi card. could you recommend a wifi card?

Will bluetooth work from the Gigabyte motherboard?

I am pretty sure CPU spoofing is not needed- certainly not for my build with a similar MB (see link in my signature) and it's not in the details for other Coffee Lake builds. This MB has neither built-in WiFi nor bluetooth. Pick some recommended parts from the Buyers Guide- I use the IOGear USB Bluetooth 4.0 module and it works very reliably once I have RehabMan's Brcm fix installed. No WiFi on mine as it has a wired connection.

perhaps I'll do the same with hard wiring ethernet. How difficult is the Brcm fix?

Could you recommend a graphics card that runs cool/quiet?

if using a graphics card, its not needed, but if using igpu it is

The discussion around Broadcom Bluetooth is at <https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-brcmpatchram>. In this case the USB adapter worked fine except after rebooting, I always had to unplug and re-plug it to work. This fix was to put:
BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext
and
BrcmPatchRAM2.kext
into /L/E/
and now it works without issue.

My graphics works fine with the GTX 1060 but of course requires the nvidia webdrivers, so can be an issue when new System versions come. If I were starting from scratch, I would seriously consider a Radeon RX 560 (or 580) as it seems these can be enabled at boot now.
