Clover & Time Machine

I'm building an NUC Ivy i3 hackintosh for my grandparents, and I'm wondering if I can use Clover to restore the computer should I need to using Time Machine, and if so how that works?

I also heard you can safely use OSX updates with Clover?

Using Clover or Chameleon/Chimera allows the use of TimeMachine for bare-metal restore.

Clover has some nice capabilities for patching things on the fly, so should you take advantage of them, there is less work to do post-update.
