What HDMI audio device are you using? NVIDIA?
 
Stopt working on High Sierra 10.13.4 with GTX980ti and LG31MU97 over mini display port, haven't tried over HDMI.
Now only sound from internal speakers(motherboard).
Did work on 10.13.3.
Will have to look for other solution.

Still working for me on 10.13.5.
Only catch is that I must reinstall onboard audio drivers before hdmi audio will show up.
 
It ran fine, but i still have nothing in my sound preferences, it's just blank. My audio hardware is NVIDIA GTX970 and also built in Realtek ALC1150, which is also not showing up!
 
This works great for anyone looking to get Audio from DP or HDMI on 10.13.4 which now natively supports Sapphire Pulse RX 580. I removed Shiki, Lilu and Whatevergreen kexts from EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other and just added the HDMIAudio.kext only and everything is running great on my Samsung 4K TV. Thanks OP.

Just to clarify, does this fix also work on Displayports?

Will it change existing Realtek patches?

I have a 1080ti that used to have sound but after .4 update, hasn't worked.
 
Works on 10.13.6 with 1080ti over DisplayPort.
 
Does not work for GT 730, High Sierra :(
