I have the Aspire A515-51 and I am having an issue that I hope someone can help me with. When I boot from the usb installer I am greeted with this:

OsxAptioFix2Drv: starting overrides for /System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi
using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no

I search high and low for an answer that would work for me. I tried changing out OsxAptioFix2Drv for the suggested fixed one, but nothing worked. Finally I came across a post where someone said that they removed the ram from their ram slot and it booted just fine and installed. Well turns out that my laptop have 8gb of ram installed. 4gb is soldiered to the motherboard and there is one ram slot that has a 4gb stick installed, so that is where the total of 8gb comes from. Well like the post said I removed the 4gb ram stick that was installed and booted from the usb installer and the system booted just fine and installed. After updating completely to 10.3.3 I shut down the computer and put the 4gb ram back into its slot and tried booting but again came to:

OsxAptioFix2Drv: starting overrides for /System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi
using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no

Again removing the ram fixes the issue. So can someone PLEASE help me understand what is going on here. I would love to be able to use the full 8gb of ram that my computer came with. BTW I dont think the ram is bad because I am using the full 8gb now typing this with Windows 10 installed and I am not having any issues.

you could try using OsxAptioFix1Drv
Link to laptop guide:

OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi used to give my laptop sporadic problems. I switched to AptioMemoryFix.efi and it has solved all my problems. Maybe it will work for you too...

Try to declare RAm slots in SMBIOS in clover config, use clover configurator.

Follow the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html

Although you should read the FAQ for an overview of issues, the Clover guide is linked from the first question: "Q. Where do I start?", just after the bold face "Clover Guide".
Here is a direct link, just to be clear:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Also, your profile must be filled out with complete details as requested in the FAQ, again under "Q. Where do I start?". All seven details requested are equally important.

And if you have an issue (after following the guide), or on any other problem, you must provide a detailed description of the problem including information that helps us understand what you're doing. Always attach "Problem Reporting" files as per FAQ.

The required files and data are fully detailed in the last question in the FAQ:
"Q. What are typical "Problem Reporting" files?"

I tried this fix and it didn't solve my ram issue.

Not sure how I could have been more clear about my issue. So let me try explaining again. I have High Sierra installed on my Acer Aspire 515-51 link will be provided to the specs of the machine below. The issue I am having is that the laptop comes preinstalled with 8gb of ram. 0/DIMM0 is 4gb of soldiered ram. 0/DIMM1 is 4gb of ram that is accessible via a ram slot that can be swapped out. High Sierra will only boot if I remove the ram from 0/DIMM1 and just use the 4gb of soldiered ram in 0/DIMM0. I am asking for help fixing THIS issue. How can I get High Sierra to boot and see ALL 8gb of ram.

The problem is that what you've told us doesn't allow for true troubleshooting. It can let people spit ball guesses, but it's just that guesses. What Rehabman is asking for will allow him to actually find the problem. He's also trying to figure out exactly how you installed which is why he linked that guide. Not all install methods are equal.

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.
