Hi all,

My friend built me a machine in June 2013 and I am hoping to finally get a graphics card so I can do some gaming. I am not the most computer literate person

My hardware configurations are the followings:
Gigabyte SKT-1155 Z77-DS3H Motherboard
Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K CPU (4 x 3.4GHz Ivy Bridge, Socket 1155, 6Mb L3 Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)
TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 N900 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter
Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3
Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Cetrified ATX/ EPS PSU
Western Digital Black - 3.5 inch 1 TB Desktop SATA Hard Drive - OEM

My software version:
OX X 10.8.4

Multibeast version:
5.3.1

My questions are:
1) What should I get if I am planning to spend between £100 - £200?
2) What is compatible with my setup?
3) What steps should I take towards installing a graphics card in this situation?

Many thanks.

C

Hi, did you figure this out? I have the same setup and want to do the same

Still haven't figure it out yet... Hoping someone who knows would reply... One day...

Any Nvidia GPU up to Kepler generation, any AMD GPU up to GCN 1.0 generation. AMD would need a modern bootloader (=> Clover, not Chimera/Chameleon).

If you consider upgrading to El Capitan any time, go for a Nvidia Kepler GPU, e.g. GTX 660, 670 680, 760, 770, 780.
