In Mavericks & ML (and early versions of Yosemite) 0xa16 (HD4400 mobile) was directly supported.

As of Yosemite 10.10.2 (going from memory), HD4400 mobile support was removed. So it now, requires injection of device-id (0x0412) and FakePCIID.kext.

The Chimera gma.c code was never updated for this change.

Confirmed-the Qe/Ci for the 4400 stopped being supported on 1/27/15 with the 10.10.2 Yosemite release. While switching to a 10.10.1 build I had on USB didn't work by itself, with Clover and a bit of tinkering I've been able to get a basic installation going -- not 100% sure on the performance though. I'm still interested in getting 10.10.3 up and running for the new Photos and Exchange fixes.
