changing fans on mac pro?

Hi. I would love to swap out the stock case fans with quiter ones.
Anyone ever done that? Any suggestions?
I'm thinking that the control of the fan speed is controlled differently than normal fans - is that the case??

You don´t swap out the fans, more like recycling. If You just want a switch, just search Tonymacx, there´s lots of people which documented how they switched fans in their Pros & G5s.

I can only find one other thread on exchanging the fans in a "real" mac pro with pc ones.. and no one seems to be replying.
Any suggestions?

I just want to make sure that all of you know what i am doing: I have a "real" mac - not a hack and I want to put quieter PC fans into the real mac motherboard.


Any suggestions?
