Hi guys. How you doing today? I hope very well.
I'm here asking for help.
I have a laptop: HP AC132LA with a i7 6500u (integrated graphics: 520) Samsung SSD, that has travelled with me since I learnt how to vanilla hackintosh. Somewhat since macOS Sierra.
But now, since Catalina came along, I have had no success upgrading to it. And it's driving me nuts by the simple fact that I have done this process almost since Sierra with no problems whatsoever.
My process and setup, simple:
  1. Vanilla hackintosh, all essential kexts on C/K/O: whatevergreen, applealc, lilu, hibernationfixup, airportbrcm, elan touchpad kext. DSDT patched.
  2. Catalina installer downloaded.
  3. Installation starts, asks for reboot.
Now starts the headache!
The computer boots up, and I'm stopped by this phrase:
PCI configuration end, bridges 2, devices 12
Nothing more, for hours stuck there. Sometimes it loads up the APFS module:
apfs_module_start:1683: load: com.apple.filesystems.apfs, v1412,41,1
Troubleshoot:
  1. I've tried upgrading my setup, and stop using FakeSMC. I installed VirtualSMC successfully: No fix, same error. Only boots my actual Mojave installation
  2. Delete installer, download again. No success
I don't know that to do. Can someone help me out?
Thanks in advance!

It is a fairly common issue - Easily solved - Search for 1683.

Well I never thought that the apfs note was the cause. Because sometimes appears, sometimes not.

Thank you so freaking much! Fixed! I mean, every single day I learn something new about this.
I thought that the clover H_EC to EC patch was enough.
Is this for USB power?
