Hi,

I have installed Catalina on an old iMac model early 2009 (A1224 / EMC 2266) using Dosdude's Catalina patcher v1.4.4. Everything works great out-the-box. Except the screen brightness resets to a very low value on each reboot and after a power save / hibernate / sleep. So we have to increase the brightness each time we come back to the computer.

As you can see in the screenshot below.. in the display settings screen there is no setting to change the brightness.

Is there any way to save or set a default brightness value?

Kind regards!

I have an Early 2009 iMac that I just used the patcher to install High Sierra and I have the exact same issue. In addition, I can add that when ever I launch a game it also resets the brightness to the lowest setting. I think that anytime there is any slight change to the display settings (be it a game/app launch, computer Sleeping, Reboot, etc) the brightness is being reset. I do not know enough about this to know why. Hoping someone else can chime in with some help!

We still have this issue, anyone with knowledge on this subject? It such an annoying issue.
