Hi all,

I manage several macOS in my organisation, using Admin account and Standard user account.
Previously, the iMac was installed with 10.15.5 and we don't have any plan to make any update since everything is doing OK for our intended use.
However, the user had noticed me about the iMac being updated even without requesting Admin password.
And I tested it myself and found the same result, i.e. I can login using Standard user account, go to Software Update in Preferences, then clicking for the update and it the update runs through without asking for Admin password. Either it is macOS update, or Safari update, it is the same.

I am confused about this, while installing an apps require Admin username and password, how come updating macOS do not specifically ask for Admin user name and password? I have googled but cannot find any similar situation, thus requesting some advise here.

Anybody experiencing the same situation? Is there any way to block the Standard user from doing macOS update?

Thank you for the advise.
