Hi,

when I try to shutdown my hackintosh (10.6.2 - tonys guide!), it stops when only my desktop wallpaper is visible, no dock, no menubar, no icons. I can't do anything then. Only a hard shutdown helps here. I already repaired the permissions, but no chance... Any advice?

Regards.

Boot in verbose mode (-v). That way you'll also see messages at shutdown and help you diagnose it.

By the way, some time, shutdowns take longer if some processes refuse to quit and they system will try a few times before it kills them.

That happened to me on my real iMac. I found that if I was still connected to my network share where I store my iTunes that it would happen. If I disconnected from it first then shut down it would be OK.
