Can't reach El Capitan installer - HP 15-an002nv

This is SkyLake 6200U with the HD 520 and a nVidia 940M GPU. I have created a 10.11 usb install media and installed Clover on it. However when selecting the os x boot entry it goes to a black screen for a few seconds and then reboots, -v doesn't fo anything, I see no text at all. I have tried booting with cpus=1 -v -f npci=0x2000 and 0x3000, with and without dropping SSDT from Clover. Any thoughts? I am on latest F.79 BIOS, SATA Controller in AHCI mode and DVMT pre-alloc set to 128MB.
