Can't mount NTFS partitions

Hey guys!

After I upgraded from 10.6.8 to 10.8.2 I can't even mount my W7 ntfs partition anymore. Before that I could read (and after installing ntfs-3g, write on it as well) but now every time I go to disk utility and click on mount it gives me errors saying that ntfs-3g macfuse couldn't mount the disk. The partition can't be corrupted since I am using w7 normally.

Any ideas?

Hi I too was having this issue.
I found a post with this info.
The reason why you can't share your NTFS drive from OSX to Windows: In OSX Lion Apple replaced the open source samba with apples own version which unfortunately ignores anything that isn't hpfs. So it hasn't anything to do with your drivers or such.

As such I found this script that replaced apples samba.

I now have the nice control over what is shared ntfs exfat hfs to what groups etc.

Samba is a networking protocol. The OP isn't talking about anything network-related. He/she is talking about mounting the disk filesystem directly.
