Hello,

When I boot from the USB with OS X Mavericks, I get this error:
20140912_180043228_iOS.jpg

My hardware:
Dell OptiPlex 755
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
4 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5450

Can someone help me with installing OS X Mavericks? Lion runs fine.

Thanks

At boot you have pressed F12 to enter the BIOS and then selected the 'USB Device option'
At the Tonymac boot screen option you can press the spacebar and type:

Code:
-x -v

If all goes well the following will happen:

After some text scrolls down the screen, you should arrive at a white screen with mouse pointer. This screen will go dark grey before arriving at the desktop installer with the language options.

Thanks for your reply. It doesn't work. I get this screen:

I see that you have also tried
Code:
 npci=0x2000

You may want to try
Code:
 PCIRootUID=1

See Step 4: Install OS X Mavericks from the 10.9 guide for other options:

Its going to be a bit of trial and error to see what works for you. Keep a note of what you have been trying so you know what hasn't worked - this can help narrow down what has been tried and avoids repeating the same options.

Thanks for your reply. I tried -v -x, GraphicsEnabler=Yes, GraphicsEnabler=No, PCIRootUID=1, PCIRootUID=0, maxmem=4096, npci=0x2000. They all don't work. I keep getting cpu 0/2/3 caller.

ATI Radeon 5xxx use GraphicsEnabler=No for Mavericks (Default position)

Explanation of boot flags: http://www.tonymacx86.com/basics/104536-troubleshooting-issuing-boot-flags.html

Maxmem=4096 is only sometimes required with Haswell hardware. If you don't get 'dead beef' mentioned in the kernel panic then you do not need to use it.

If you can still boot into your Lion installation - see if it is still working OK. Also suggest going through the BIOS settings just to confirm things are looking OK.

Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion are working. Mavericks not. I tried GraphicsEnabler=No, but this is not working.

Can you boot using a Mountain Lion UniBeast drive? There isn't a legacy boot option in the BIOS is there?

Make sure that the HD is on Sata 0 and the DVD drive is on Sata 1. Disconnect any other drives during the installation process.

This is the original guide that I used for a 760
