I wanna install macOS on a new laptop, due it is clean installation, can't fix power management before installation. When I click "install" in installer, error prompt "before installation, please plug your power adapter firstly". How to skip it and force install??

Attach EFI/Clover folder as ZIP (omit 'themes' folder).

I've solved it via other one's patched DSDT. But I wanna to know how to install without patched DSDT? Are there some way ignore or skip power check when install??

Never a good idea to use ACPI files from another computer (no wonder you report random hangs...)

The ACPI patching guide is linked from the FAQ.

So I'm using this guide (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-dell-xps-13-9333-using-clover.146758/) to install 10.12.6 Sierra to my XPS 13 9333. At first I had a rough time getting the USB to register, but worked that out with all the fine guides on here. Now I've run into the same problem as above...I can't initiate the install because the computer thinks it's power is unplugged. I've taken a look at the ACPI patching guide and I've tried to get the Clover F4 (F4 and Fn-F4) dump of DSDT/SSDT, but I don't think it's worked.

I've attached the EFI/CLOVER folder from the USB via EFI-Backups folder. Sorry I'm such a n00b.

For booting the installer from USB, read here:

Thanks for the quick reply RehabMan. I should have specified that I used that guide to create the USB installer. I originally went MBR with no luck, re-read and went with GPT which got the USB recognized. I was able to enter 'Install macOS Sierra', format the m2 ssd drive to Journald (wiping windows in the process). Then when I went further and selected the drive to begin the install, it asked for the power to be plugged in (it wasn't). I plugged it in, but it would not let me continue. Perhaps I need to begin again with the power plugged in from the beginning? Or include the lilu ktext? I'm just grasping for what I could have missed...

I did use that guide to create the USB boot drive that eventually worked (GPT method was key). However, even when I plug in the power cable from the get-go, when I get to the part to install sierra on the SSD (m2 btw) it won't let me continue because it says no power connected. Rehabman, do you think it's a case of missing ktexts? something in my config file? I'm thinking rebuild the USB and use this config (https://github.com/vbourachot/Dell-XPS13-9333-DSDT-Patch/blob/master/config.plist)

This is the only thread I've seen talking about the power not connected issue :/

Thanks for your insight. EDIT: Sorry for the double post, I'm on an old MBP that's on it's last

The installer should be run with AC power connected. No need to complicate things...

Ok, I've verified the AC adapter works on my wife's laptop, so it's a working power adapter for sure. Plugged it in, powered on, F12, boot into Clover, enter the installation process...takes awhile to load fully (apple logo/status bar)...at MacOS Utitlities, select "Install macOS"...agree...select mSATA harddrive...click Install..."Your computer is not connected to a power source".

Thoughts?
