Hi,

I had my Realtek 8139 network card working in 64bit mode on 16.6.6 by replacing the 8139 Kext in IONetworkingFamily.kext.

I upgraded to 10.6.7 and followed the same method and now I can't boot in 64 bit.

Anyone got this card working in 10.6.7 64bit?
Can anyone send me / link me to the 10.6.6 IONetworkingFamily.kext and I will try replacing 8139 with the 64bit kext and using that in 10.6.7......

Thanks

I don't think it is the network card.

At one point this evening I had 10.6.7 in 64bit mode with working network.....
But then I reset, and it stopped, and had to boot with arch=i386.....

This one is working for me, try it.

AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext.zip

I got this working, but I'm not sure how.

I followed my old method that I used in 10.6.6,
Replaced the kext.
Then ran the MultiBeast "System Utilities" stuff, and it started working again.

(Previously I was using Kext Helper / Kext Utility)

How do people normally deal with upgrading to new versions of Snow Leopard when they come out? Do a Clone/New Install? Then move everything over?
