Cant buy 4530s. Whats the next compatible Probook?

Today i went to purchase a 4530s and found out that they are not available in market.
So i want to run 10.8.x on a laptop.

What do you guys suggest what would be a compatilble laptop that i can run ML on?

Also i found a 4530s (A6C16PA):
Processor Intel 2ng Gen Core i5 2450M (2.5GHz turbo upto 3.1Ghz)
Display 15.6” WXGA Wide Screen Bright View LED
Memory 4GB 1600Mhz
Hard drive 750GB
Graphic Card 1GB Dedicated Graphics Card

I wont need the Graphics Card but thats the only 4530s model i can find in the whole market.
It has the atheros wifi card. So is this suitable to run ML
Should i BUy this?

The 4540s is slowly being figured out, but it requires a lot more reading and a few skills to get up an running 100%.

But the 4530s you mention would be a good choice. But just so you known, has (evidently) Radeon AMD graphics, which will only be useable in Windows (on OS X you'll be using Intel HD3K).

Are you sure that the wifi will work on the 4530s as i am considering to buy it.

But on the other hand i also want the latest hardware (HD4000)

It has the Atheros Wifi Card( I asked the salesman)

So how much of this laptop wil work on ML.
I read in some posts that the WiFi doesnt work and some say it never will.

So what is your opinion?

Basically that's the same as mine, you will need to read about the Advanced Format hard drive changes but my howto should get you up and running fine. The wifi card needs changing (5 minute job) other than that you're good to go.

OK i got the laptop. And followed your guide and it worked with a little changing(Thank You for your Hard Work). Your System Def was MacBook Pro 8,1 with which i got a KP(may be its because i have an i5).
I changed it to 8,2 and it worked like a charm.
All sensors are working fine too (Fan Speed Hard Temp CPU Temp etc.)


What i havent tested is the Multiplier.
and while booting up it says something like "unknown cpu" and "power management may be unsupported and absent at all" something like that. Is it the SSDT?
(because i used everything from your folder "4540s").

The wlan card is a atheros ppd ar5b255. Not Working though
Is there any chance it might work?

And i used ur DSDT too. My ProBook sleeps well and wakes up as well (i lose my touchpad after waking though as you said (any Fix for that yet?))
Audio works fine except that the sound is not loud enough(doesnt matter)

and Bluetooth doesnt work either. Any help on that will be appreciated.

I don't need sleep so don't allow it the new Touchpad kext from RehabMan is reported to fix and enhance response/problems.

Long term you should be looking at extracting/patching your own DSDT
