[Solved] Cannot use Nvidia web drivers after todays 10.13.6 security update?!

I'm not actually familiar with that tool, only that it aims to do same thing.

I use a diff one to fix the web driver.

https://github.com/vulgo/webdriver.sh

basically just run it with -m
so it modifies currently installed driver to work with currently installed OS build. it automatically changes build number, updates permissions and updates kext cache then you just reboot and it just works.

People using nvidia drivers should pretty much be used to this process at this point, cause we've had to do it for just about every update since 10.11.x when we update to new OS version (including security updates), before a new web driver is released

Works for me.
My steps:

Install webdriver.sh with Homebrew
brew tap vulgo/repo
brew install webdriver.sh

Patch NVDAStartupWeb Info.plist for a different version of macOS
webdriver -m

Restart.

Look for the 108 version of the driver, just published by Nvidia a few months ago, but retreated cause of problems. I've installed this driver and it's compatible 100% with the latest security update 2018-002 of HS and my 1080ti card.

do NOT use that driver, use the new 108 driver though

https://images.nvidia.com/mac/pkg/387/WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.108.pkg

you want 387.10.10.10.40.108 you do NOT want 387.10.10.15.15.108 from a few months ago unless you like regular driver crashes and glitches. there was a reason that driver from months ago was PULLED, and why the new driver released in last day or so (which they decided to also call 108) is based on 10.10.10.40 and not (just like 105 was) and not the crappy 10.10.15.15 code that was grossly unstable.

I repeat, do NOT use the 387.10.10.15.15.108 driver posted above, especially if you run any metal applications. it can cause HARD crashes that will force your PC to freeze completely, or window server to crash and cause any unsaved work in any open applications to be lost. that driver is unstable and bad news, there is a reason nvidia pulled it. Use the driver link i posted which is a new build of 10.10.10.40 driver that's compatible with security update.

thanks MysticalOS work perfect your solution..other in my hack no
I'm happy
Nice Work

So I just updated my High Sierra 10.13.6 today with the latest security updates and safari update.
Now my Nvidia Web driver isn't compatible anymore? It says it's a new version now. Build 17G3025.
Anyone know what's up?

I had the same problem and solved it with help from from MacVidCards in Europe.

MacVidCards Europe

Thanks for the link it worked great.
I loaded the WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.108.pkg and then updated to the new cudadriver_410.130_macos.dmg and everything seems to be working just fine. I have a Nvidia GTX 970 4 GB card. I am now a happy camper.

Thanks Again

New driver for High Sierra as well: https://images.nvidia.com/mac/pkg/387/WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.108.pkg

Hey Guys,

Is it me or have Apple just updated the Security update again ?

Reading this thread it looks like you guys have installed the latest security update for High Sierra which has bumped your MacOS build number to 17G3025 which is what the just released Nvidia driver supports according to the list here :-

https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/t...pdates-for-macos-high-sierra-update-11032018/

So knowing that an updated driver is available I installed the Security Update

But my MacOS build number is Now 17G4005 and when I try to install the Nvidia 387.10.10.10.40.108 Drivers it complines the MacOS version ?

Screen Shot 2018-11-03 at 16.36.39.png

I've manually patched my existing 387.10.10.10.40.105 Nvidia drivers to get my GTX 980-Ti up and running again, but am a bit confused by the 17G4005 Build version as i think thats Mojave beta version of 10.14.2 but as you can see from the screen shot i'm clearly running High Sierra.

WTF ?

The patched 387.10.10.10.40.105 Nvidia drivers are running fine with full acceleration ...

Cheers
Jay
