I have a fully working system, running Sierra, however I'd like to upgrade my system.
I have tried a clean install with both Mojave and now High Sierra and am getting nowhere.
I have created an install USB drive using unibeast, but it will not boot. I have tried every USB port, but no luck. I always get he same error message:
"Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key"

Any help would be much appreciated.

So many things that could cause this type of problem.
Wrong BIOS settings.
USB3 flash drive.
USB3 port.
Wrong format of USB.
USB partition >32GB.

I'm pretty sure my BIOS settings are ok, as I said, I have Sierra installed and is working fine.
All of my USB ports are USB 3.
USB stick is 16gb and formatted as per the guide here.

Your BIOS/UEFI is telling you that it cannot find a bootable partition to initiate.
If your BIOS settings are correct then the USB flash drive is the problem.

Ok, I'll try with a different usb stick and report back

Are you relying on your BIOS settings or are you selecting the boot manager after power on ?

Selecting the boot manager and then usb drive on start up.

Have now tried with a USB 2 stick, same result.

Hi there.

Well @P1LGRIM is right - this is probably a USB failure.

Two strategies you can use:

1) Plug your UniBeast installer into one of those two black USB ports above the PS/2 port. They are certainly USB2.0. What's more, they will be active during BIOS and boot. The others may not be active until an operating-system is running.

If that doesn't work then ...

2) Boot Sierra, run IORegistryExplorer and post a screen grab of your XHC tree section. It starts about 3/4 the way down the left panel. Tell us which kexts you have installed for Sierra in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other and L/E.

:)

I've tried those ports, no joy.
Requested info below, however, I have no Other or L/E folders
