Hi

I've build my own Hackintosh a couple of months back. It was a Sandy build. And runs perfect!

Now I'm prepearing for a build for my friend.

It's going the be a Ivy Bridge build, but with the same motherboard as I.

Parts:

CPU:
Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge

Motherboard:
GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3

HDD:
Western Digital WD Green - 1TB

RAM:
Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz (2x4)

PSU:
Corsair Builder Series CX430

Optical Drive:
Sony NEC Optiarc AD-7260S-0B Black SATA

There's no GPU because he's not much of a gamer, and the things he want's to play should work fine with the integrated Intel HD4000 :)

Does these parts work together?
I'm using the motherboard, the optical drive and the rams and it works like a dream. But the CPU is a newer generation, the motherboard should be compatible with the Ivy Bridge processors, am I right?

It's mainly going to be used for Logic.

Ivy CPU with Ivy board, Sandy CPU with Sandy board.;)

You don't say...

But you might want to avoid this.
