Hello,

I followed Tony's guide for installing OSX with a Snow Leopard CD and the Cahmeleon boot disc. I follow his instructions and able to successfully install however once I reboot, the system loads and I see the blue screen it shows when the login prompt is about to show up. The blue screen flickers occasionally to a lighter shade of blue and it keeps doing this until it is powered off. When I add -x to boot into safe mode, the system loads fine. Is there a way to make it so I can boot normally?

Also, what are the differences between safe mode and normal mode? Can I still run the machine fully like I would in normal mode but under safe mode?

And where could I locate a kext for a realtek ACL889?

Thanks for everything,

-JoshT

Can you post your system details? Motherboard, Video Card, etc.

Oh yes, sorry I forgot about those.

Motherboard: MSI P55-GD65
Processor: Intel Core i7-860
Video Card: nVidia Geforce 7950 (Although I am reinstalling my GTX 275 tonight once I get the kexts)
Memory: 2gb ddr3 1600mhz (Although I am reinstalling to 8gb tonight)

Let me know if I forgot anything :)

Ah nevermind. I realized I forgot to run disk utility to repair permissions after installing the kexts. I now have everything working perfectly except for audio... Any tips?

I had same problem found this solution.
In terminal enter this command: sudo nvram boot-args=""
THEN ENTER PASSWORD
Then enter this command sudo nvram -d boot-args
now reboot and your troubles should go away.
