I installed my Catalina (10.15.4) system last night. I have a STRIX Vega 64 and an i7 6700k.
My monitor is able to handle 1440p at 144hz but Mac defaults this to 1440p at 60hz. I do have the option to change to 144hz in the settings but when I do the ui lags badly, however the mouse does not lag. I have found that the problem occurs when the resolution changes to "Scaled". It works perfectly on "Default for display". Whenever I change to 144hz, it automatically changes the resolution to "scaled". Even on a smaller resolution, e.g. 1920.1080 at 60hz, it still lags.
Even after a reboot the system continues to lag (if it is not on the defaults), it only performs well on 2560x1440 at 60hz.
3D and 2D games perform as expected when at 60hz and I have the latest Lilu and WhateverGreen installed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If any files are needed let me know and I will provide them asap.
