Yeah, the question is pretty much in the title. Let's say I have a USB stick lying around, prepared by Unibeast, that I used to install macOS Sierra or High Sierra on a hackintosh. Now I have original Apple hardware that I want to install macOS on. Can I use that same stick or do I have to use something like createinstallmedia to create a new USB stick?

The thing is that the description for Unibeast could be clearer on that issue. The text says something about using the USB stick as a rescue drive, but it doesn't specify if that is only for hackintoshes or also Apple's own hardware.

Yes, you can. I did it on Mac Pro 3.1 to boot from PCIe nvME drive.

But it is easy to create bootable install with either createinstallmedia or DiskMakerX and it is more native way.
