Can I require authentication for EFI mount?

As unauthenticated ability to r/w/mount the EFI partition has security implications (i. e. the easy installation of persistent malware), I'd like to make authentication required for mounting it. Any way to do so? (High Sierra)

To be clearer, through un-elevated terminal "diskutil mount", it mounts without asking for password or any sort of authentication.
