So for the deluxe mini itx build with the bitfenix case... Which will not work with the mobo (ha-z87n-wifi) Bluetooth or wifi on OS X ? There is no wifi card listed for the build. A bit confused. Thanks ahead of time for your help and I love the site! Great information, this will be my first customac :)

Are those the only ram sticks that are compatible? Are there other cheaper or faster clock or more of 'bank for the buck' alternatives to corsair vengeance??

Try → Forum → The Build → User/Golden Builds and look at all of the various kinds of Ram people
have used successfully. You can often get Crucial or Kingston Ram with the same specs as Corsair
but for less money.

These kinds of questions should be posted in the buying advice section of the forum. Thanks IA

Hey you all.
I am going to buy a "CORSAIR SSD - GS F128GB" it also features Toggle NAND and Sand-force controllers. Does any one have any kind of experience with this device and Hackintosh?

Anyone using a PCI firewire 800 card in their hacks? Can anyone recommend one to use natively with osx 10.8

thanks

Brad, two places to look for this info are :

Have a look at the audio build that BoomR uses for his audio use in the audio forums. I am sure that he will give you good feedback on what is worthwhile to use.

Is it necessary for the power supply to be so big for these mobos? Just wondering. I haven't done a build yet, so I'm wondering if space could be saved by using something like the mac mini 80W power supply? That's nice and small, but I don't know if it will give enough juice to the board. Am I correct?

The PSUs are sized for the configuration. You can find PSU wattage size calculators on the Internet. Here's a couple for you to play with.

Newgg's: http://images10.newegg.com/BizIntell/tool/psucalc/index.html

Google Search: https://www.google.com/search?q=power+supply+calculator

And, no, 80 watts is nowhere near enough for motherboard, processor, memory and a hard drive. Mac Minis use very low power components that you wouldn't use in a desktop computer.

Oh, ok. I just found an article somewhere about projected power needs for components are usually overkill now that PSU's are rated 80+ now? Not entirely sure what it all means, but if I don't need to use a 650w psu and can get away with a 400w, that saves a bit of space you know? Is there anybody that has used a modded xbox 360 psu? Is there a forum on that maybe? I'm an electrician, not an electronics guy, so this is all very new to me.
BTW, thanks for the quick response!!
