Hi so I've have built a hackintosh just once before, but now my boss wants me to build a mean ass monster for work. Money wise i can be a bit spendy, looking for around $3000. This machine will be doing very heavy 3D modeling, photoediting and such. Solidworks, autocad, Maya, mudbox, photoshop are some of the programs I will be needing to use. He wants this to last a long time so some overkill is welcomed. Ive done some looking around and these are the options I'm looking at:

OPTION 1:

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CO8TBQ0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3U1PLWF1ILO53&coliid=I8QOGCMHWY0OW

M BOARD: GA-Z87X-OC Force
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CU4L6CU/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3U1PLWF1ILO53&coliid=I3KJCTQ07YV406

RAM: 32GB 1600Mhz DDR3
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0068ZWZY0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3U1PLWF1ILO53&coliid=I2VOVFBM5LHY8S

CASE: Corsair Carbide 500R
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005E983JW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3U1PLWF1ILO53&coliid=IHC2ND5O6K8YM

POWER: Corsair HX 750W
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0090I9VZI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3U1PLWF1ILO53&coliid=I34K0CCP33K80N

STORAGE: (2) Sandisk 480 SSD
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00COF7E1W/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3U1PLWF1ILO53&coliid=I1T0VQI27BI5BO

Graphics: GTX TITAN 6GB
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BJ7AJ7C/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3U1PLWF1ILO53&coliid=I20W6X524HZ6Z1

OPTION 2: (SAME W/ EXCEPTION OF CPU AND MOTHER BOARD)

CPU: XEON E5-2650
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CO8TBQ0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3U1PLWF1ILO53&coliid=I8QOGCMHWY0OW

M BOARD: GA-x79s-up5
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0094ROHYK/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=tonymacx86com-20

CPU COOLER: CORSAIR LIQUID COOLER H60
http://www.amazon.com/dp/product/B00A0HZMGA/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=tonymacx86com-20

So my two questions:

is the xeon worth it? is it better to get a duel socket? or will the i7 be good enough?

Is the TITAN 6gb vram worth it? and should i have be worried about giving up OpenCL with that? I'm getting 32 gb ram so i dont think it will make a big difference.

Please any help and ideas?

@pmpetros

I would wait a few more weeks until we get 10.9.2 before making your decision. Once we have got
some test results to share regarding how the Xeons and socket 2011 builds function with that update
you can make the best decision for your boss.

Here's a thread you can look over until then. Discusses many of the questions you have.
