I have a finicky situation. The wifi card i bought used to work great until yesterday, in the debug i can see it crashes on boot saying found chip of unknown type, airport_brcm43xx start failed, memory leak. I had to disable the wifi and bt in the bios to actually boot properly.
I am dumbfounded as to why it worked before. I even loaded my backup efi/clover settings and same thing happens.
This is my card, supposedly it is native?
  • M.2: BCM94350ZAE/DW1820A - native WiFi/ac and BT4LE
Can anyone help figure this out?

Just installed a Fenvi PV-1919 and at first thought it didn't work in the PCI x16 slot, so after some reading that some people had more success using the PCI x1 slot I tried that and everything worked instantly... but:

After rebooting the wifi stopped working again (it shows up in the menu bar and system info but is turned off and nothing happens when clicking the "Turn on wifi" button). I rebooted four times without changing anything (like an idiot) and suddenly the wifi was enabled again! Right now all features are working perfectly, handoff, airdrop and so on. But I have no idea why it seems to be randomly disabled at boot time. Any tips or similar experiences out there?

Hey RehabMan, I am using Broadcom BCM943225HMB card. I have used it from Mac 10.13.6 and when I upgrade to Mac 10.14.4 I cannot turn on this card after sleep (wake up). I tried re-patch DSDT but no success. Can you help me check my system? Have mistakes in my DSDT? Thanks you, sir.
PS: Camera and Bluetooth work properly after wake up.
PS2: I tried fresh install Max 10.14.4 and patch dsdt step by step Rehabman guide, currently, It worked.

(M.2-KEYM to M.2 KEYA+E adapter / M.2 KEYA+E to Mac WLAN / BCM94360CS2)

So for H370N-Wifi users and many others that don't have m2-WIFI or have m2-CNVi slots, this solution works.
It's kinda creepy with 2 adapters in a m2 key m slot!

I managed to use the antenna cables from the original intel cnvi wlan card!

:thumbup::mrgreen:
Does this mean, those in-built wifi/bts are using actual mini-pcie slot inside that casing? Can it be easily replaced instead of this m2 monster?

Hi Everyone,
I am building a new Hackintosh, I am trying to decide which M.2 bt and wifi card to buy, I do not have much experience with this, and I am a little bit confused my motherboard is Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming it has two M.2 slots the first slot I will use for SSD and the second slot I would like to use it for bt and wifi, but if so do I also need the antenna for this card ? Or I can use the PCI express slot as well, which route would you suggest ? can you please give me some links ?

I recently got a Z390 M Gaming motherboard to play around with. First, I was unable to get the CNVi slot to work with a Dell DW1830 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card. Neither Wi-Fi nor bluetooth worked.

So, your options are (1) PCI-e adaptor or (2) one of the m-key M.2 slots. Personally, I would just use a PCI-e adaptor in one of the PCI-e x1 slots. I wouldn't waste the M.2 slot on a device that just requires one lane.

As for which adaptor, I would look for one that uses Apple branded Wi-Fi/Bluetooth cards. BCM94360CD and BCM94360CSAX can do 1300Mbps. BCM94360CS2 can do 857Mbps.
