Hello,

I know it is a frequent question but I have installed OSX, Windows 8 and Ubuntu on 3 different SSD. Chimera is installed on OSX disk, I can boot OSX and Windows 8 with no issues. However I cannot see Ubuntu in Chimera. I tried different options when/where installing grub but I cannot get the option to boot linux from Chimera. At the moment my only solution is to change the boot disk in the "bios" if I want to boot on linux.

I would be glad to get some help about this.

Do I need to install Grub on the same disk as Chimera ?

Thanks a lot

After many attempts and reading I finally managed to make it work.

My 'linux' disk was /dev/hdb and the boot partition was /dev/hdb2 (Where grub is installed).

The fix was to change the partition type from 'Linux filesystem' (8300) to 'Microsoft basic data' (0700) to make it visible to Chimera.

That was easy to do using gdisk.

I hope it will be useful to someone.
