"Boot macOS Installer" not showing in Clover

I'm trying to do a direct update from Sierra. When I run the installer, it prompts for a restart and when it does, I don't see the option to boot into the installer in Clover. It's only showing Sierra disk and the recovery partitions. What could be causing the installer from not showing up?

How quickly is the installer supposed to configure when you run it from the Desktop? Mine runs through in couple of seconds and then prompts me to restart.

Exact same situation for me.

apfs.efi is in /CLOVER/drivers64UEFI incase anyone thinks it may be that.

This happens with both the AFPS install method and the HFS+ method.

AFPS method installer log shows:

I noticed that when the restart option comes up in the installer, I see the following message in the Console:

I'm trying to do a direct update from Sierra. When I run the installer, it prompts for a restart and when it does, I don't see the option to boot into the installer in Clover. It's only showing Sierra disk and the recovery partitions. What could be causing the installer from not showing up?

How quickly is the installer supposed to configure when you run it from the Desktop? Mine runs through in couple of seconds and then prompts me to restart.

Id recommend avoiding APFS. Use HFS+ instead and use startosinstall method.
