Windows 7 boots with no problem but when I choose the partition that Windows XP is installed on from the bootloader I get a boot.ini error. When I choose the drive directly from the bios as the 1st boot drive, Windows XP boots up with no problems. How can I fix this?

I take it your using chimera? by default MS installs the windows bootloader to a space partition called "System Reserved" not the main install drive. Boot system reserved and see if that works.

Yes, I'm booting with Chimera. I dont have a system reserved partition but like I said, Windows 7 boots up just fine. I installed XP with no other drives in the system so it doesn't depend on the Win 7 bootloader. It's when I choose the drive that I have Windows XP installed on that I'm having the problem.
