Hi,

I've a working and stable system (macOS Sierra 10.12.6), the only thing that is annoying me it's the Blue-ray drive that every 5 minutes spins without any reason!

It works correctly when I insert a disk, but it spins with no reason when no disc is inserted.

The drive is a "Asus BC-12D2HT 90DD01K0-B30000".

Any idea/suggestion about this little (but annoying, especially when I work with music/mixing) issue?

Thank you.

Just as info... I solved it unchecking the option: System Preferences>Eneregy>Put hard disks to sleep when possible

Be careful, I managed to kill my BD drive by ignoring this...!

Sorry, I didn't get it. You mean that un-checking that option your BD drive died? o_O

Interestingly I don't have a BD only a DVD but it is a new one by Asus too.

Every five minutes or so it "hunts" for a disk. This never happened with my previous drives (Pioneer, Samsung, LG).

I wonder if it is some Asus thing?

:)
