Thanks so much to Tonymacx86 and Linx2mac I have a perfectly working machine very similar to the one on Linx2mac's blog:
--Gbyte P55M-UD4 - BIOS F8 using the correct DSDT from the database here.
--i7-860, GTX275, 4g gskill 2004mhz RAM
--all BIOS settings copied from Linx2mac's guide and the very helpful people on this board.
--I have a slight overclock to accomodate my 2004mhz RAM, cpu clock 3.0ghz, BCLK upped a bit (as part of my XMP profile for the RAM). Tested for 12hrs+ on windows using OCCT.

however, all of a sudden whenever I boot or resume from sleep I am prompted to copy the contents of the backup BIOS...
I press enter and this screen follows:

The machine always works fine after the BIOS is recovered but I'm afraid it isnt good to have this situation in the long run... any ideas? thanks!

Sounds like the CMOS got corrupted. Reflash with the latest BIOS and redo all settings. :ugeek:

You might want to use BIOS F9 (not F10/F11 as these have some issues), but it's better than F8.
