Situation : Asus Z97-A / i7-4790k [Haswell] / 32Go / Samsung SSD 500 Go / ATI 560

This hack is actually working pretty well with Opencore 0.6.3 / Catalina 10.15.7

From 2 days now, i'm trying to install Big Sur RC2, i checked everything 10X times : Opencore conf, hard drives formats, all that can be verified, because something very strange happens whatever the installation technique, (from Catalina or usb key), the installation starts, then halfway through (12 minutes remaining) the progress stops and I only have one folder : macOS Install Data on the targeted hard drive. I attach my EFI folder, config.plist and a log of the aborted installation, if anyone has any idea ...

It might sound silly, but... maybe your installer is somehow corrupted? Have you tried to download it again?

What is the file size of the installer?

12,22 GB

I just downloaded the latest version which is no longer the beta. I am creating a USB installer, what I don't know is, is my bootloader configuration correct !?

According to the checker for Haswell your config file is fine with the exception of this notice "run-efi-updater = Yes but should normally be No". However, I do not think that notice will affect boot. In general the install will reboot when it supposed to 12 mins is just an estimate and the bar may not finish. In fact I am not sure I ever see the bar finish on boot or install on my rig.

When it reboots and the OC screen pops up what does it show?

Also post a picture of your verbose.

Try doing a direct upgrade from the system updater forget about the USB key.

Finally !!

BUT !!!

The "traditional" installation is still not possible : via USB or updating from Catalina, so I used VMWARE using a real hard disk (ssd) and there it works.
