Purchased a Samsung 4k 55" TV and upgraded to an Nvidia 1080 Ti graphics card. Researching the best way to get 60Hz refresh rate and audio working.
Previously, I had a 1080p display with a 980 ti and working audio over HDMI. After upgrading graphics, HDMI audio no longer worked despite following the information to repatch it. When I switched to the Displayport, audio was working so figured case closed.
Now that I have the Samsung TV, DisplayPort doesn't offer 4K resolution. I see there are work-arounds for it. In addition, neither option offers 60hz without more patching.
So my question -- what's the easier path...HDMI 4K + Audio patching or DisplayPort 4K assuming audio will "just work"? Any experiences/advice?
