How do I get to the IOREG screen to check for HDEF in step 5?MultiBeast
Before You Install Audio: MultiBeast/Desktop/Realtek
All macOS versions, 10.11 and newer
Install MultiBeast Audio (previous selections are not preserved)
- Remove previous installed methods (skip, if clean install)
- Realtek ALC AppleHDA/Post #1/Uninstall Realtek ALC AppleHDA
- Native AppleHDA required (skip, if clean install)
- Disable SIP (10.11 and newer, if enabled)
- Clover: config.plist/RtVariables/CsrActiveConfig/0x3 or 0x67
- Restart
- Mount EFI partition (Clover only)
- Community Software/EFI Mounter v3
- IOReg/HDEF
- Supported: HDEF
- IOReg/Search: HDEF (if HDEF present, proceed to 6. Realtek Codec)

- if HDAS present, install one HDAS > HDEF method (A or B, below)
- A: MultiBeast: √ 100/200 Series Audio (disables HDMI audio)
- B: HDAS > HDEF ssdts, install one ssdt (#1 or #2, below)
- ssdt_hdef-1-100-hdas.zip (Audio ID: 1)
- ssdt_hdef-2-100-hdas.zip (Audio ID: 2)
- Restart
- Return to 4. Mount EFI partition
- If no HDEF, installing MultiBeast audio will fail
- See Problem Reporting, Post #1; full stop
